Q:How can I receive an absentee ballot by mail? A: If you are a qualified registered voter you may request an absentee ballot in writing. Address your request to Payette County Clerk at 1130 3rd Ave. N. #104 Payette, Idaho 83661. You may also fax your written request to (208) 642-6011. The written request must include your name, your home street address, the county, and indicate which election you are requesting a ballot for. You must sign your request. You cannot request ballots for another voter, i.e. spouse or children. Send your written request to: Payette County Clerk at 1130 3rd Ave. N. #104, Payette, Idaho 83661 The last date for the clerk’s office to receive a request to mail out an absentee ballot for the upcoming election will be Wednesday, May 11, 2011. You must be registered to vote by April 22, 2011, in order to request an absentee ballot by mail for May 17, School Elections. If you are not registered by that date, your option for absentee voting will be to register at the clerk’s office at the Courthouse: 1130 3rd Ave. N. #104 Payette, Idaho 83661, and vote there at that time. The last date for the clerk’s office to receive a request to mail out an absentee ballot for the upcoming election will be Wednesday, May 11, 2011; however in-person absentee voting at the clerk’s office will continue until 5:00 p.m. Friday, May 13, 2011. All absentee ballots must be returned to the clerk’s office at the above address, no later than 8:00 p.m. May 17, 2011, for your vote to count. DO NOT deliver your absentee ballot to a precinct polling place. I.D. is now required to vote either in person at the Clerk's office or to vote at the polls. A: For the upcoming May 17, 2011, School Election, absentee voting will begin April 19, 2011. You may come to the clerk’s office during business hours 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and absentee vote in person up to 5:00 p.m. Friday, May 13, 2011. Q: Where can I obtain a sample ballot? A: Sample ballots for the May 17, 2011, School Elections will be available in the clerk’s office by April 19, 2011. Below is a list of the county’s polling locations. To determine your polling place you may contact the clerk’s office @ 642-6000.
The polling locations will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Election Day.

Q: What is the last day I can register to vote? A: Voter pre-registration closes 25 days prior to an election (April 22, 2011). However, you can register to vote on election day at your polling place. Another option is to register and in-person absentee vote at the clerk's office prior to Friday, May 13, 2011, at 5:00 p.m., if you miss the 25-day deadline. You must have picture ID, and proof of 30-day residency such as one of the following.
