I would first and foremost like to thank the citizens of Payette County for the opportunity to be your sheriff.  I started my law enforcement career with the United States Coast Guard in 1987.  My first assignment was at Station Siuslaw River in Florence Oregon.  I promoted to the rank of Boatswains mate 3rd class while stationed there.  While there, I also achieved the status of Boarding Officer.  This was my first taste of law enforcement.

My second and final assignment was in Kodiak Alaska.  I was assigned to the Military Police Division at the base.

In January 1993, after being honorably discharged from the service, I was given the opportunity, by Sheriff Robert Barowsky, to become a deputy for the Payette County Sheriffs Office.  I started my career as a detention deputy, working in the jail for one year.  I transferred to the patrol division and continued working for the Payette County Sheriffs Office until December 1996.  In January 1997, I accepted employment with the Idaho State Police and became a fully commissioned trooper.  My first duty station was in District 1 Coeur’d Alene Idaho.  In 1998, I was reassigned to District 3 as the Payette County Resident Trooper.  I remained in this position until June 2003.  In July 2003, I accepted employment with the Payette County Sheriffs Office as the detective.  In 2004, I was fortunate enough to be elected Sheriff of Payette County.  On January 10, 2005 I was sworn in as Sheriff.

I will always remain committed to providing excellent service and maintain an “open door” atmosphere.  Please feel free to contact me if you have any concerns or questions about the Payette County Sheriffs Office.
