COMMUNITY SERVICES: Additionally, the Sheriff’s Office provides a wide range of community services to include finger printing, House Checks, Crime Prevention, application of Concealed Weapons Permits, S.R.O. (School Resource Officer), D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education), and W.I.P. (Work Inmate Program). OTHER POWERS: Other function which Idaho sheriffs perform include: Brand inspection law enforcement. Enforcing the State Motor Vehicle Licensing Act, including inspection of out-of-state cars. The sheriff or his deputies inspect cars and determine their identification numbers. Enforcing fish and game laws. Registering sex offenders.
